Much of the discussion seems to circle around workload issues. I am a long-time author of *ACL workshops
and conferences and I have only ever been asked to review for a single EMNLP conference, and know several
colleagues in similar situations. Meanwhile we suffer from reviewers who shouldn't have been assigned
to review our papers, e.g. because they have no knowledge of non-DL methods, or less popular topics
such as semantic parsing or morphology. All this makes me wonder, what if the workload issues could
be mitigated by addressing the diversity issues?
