"The mechanisms of ARR sound very much like TACL. Why not just use improved infrastructures on OpenReview
for TACL? I liked the initiative for rolling review (especially: the mechanism that allows us to ""revise
and resubmit"" for a conference), but to commit to the conferences, we still have to use the initial
version (because the next ARR deadline doesn't guarantee reviews in time), which basically nullifies
the ""revise-and-resubmit"" benefit. I understand that the current ARR policy is a reconciliation of
multiple factors including the reviewer availability, but this makes me (and a lot of my colleagues)
prefer the pre-ARR era of conferences with clear deadlines."
